What to Expect

The Covenant Christian Community was established for the purpose of creating a faith community that provided sacred space for individuals to strengthen and deepen their own spiritual journeys.  Covenant members are guided by the teachings OF Jesus Christ and other enlightened beings in their quest for personal spiritual growth.  Inspired by the insights and spiritual legacy of Rev. Dr. Leon Edward Wright, Covenant has adopted and practiced meditation as the church’s principal spiritual discipline.

Covenant members are invited to identify the highest spiritual goals they may have for themselves and make a promise to the God of their understanding to reach those goals. This is the private and personal covenant or agreement the member has with God. At each Covenant anniversary, members submit their covenants in a sealed, self-addressed envelope, which is never opened by anyone except themselves. The community prays for success in fulfilling each other’s spiritual potential and the envelope is mailed back to members in six months. Each year, members review their progress in fulfilling their covenant and are invited to revise and renew it as needed.

We believe that with daily meditation, clearly defined spiritual goals, and the support of a loving prayerful community, members are able to fulfill their highest potential in alignment with God’s will for them as they have discerned it.

Community Service

Covenant members agree to minister to the children of God, old and young, through all phases of their experience.

Covenant members serve their communities by modeling the practice of meditation and exhibiting its spiritual value in transforming lives. As a community, we address the needs of those who are food insecure and provide support for housing and community cultural institutions. We minister to those with physical and emotional needs and take church to those who cannot come to church. Individually, we: provide educational services to children; guide individuals in the practice of meditation; address the needs of citizens returning from incarceration and provide arts programs for adults and children.
