Covenant members make a communal promise to God at each worship service. This promise, or covenant, represents the highest collective spiritual potential we hope to achieve. The covenant is the loving and prayerful golden tie that binds us together in union with one another and with God as we understand God.

Having been led by the Spirit of God to follow the teaching of Jesus the Christ and other enlightened beings, we do now, in the presence of God, the host of angels and of one another, enter into a Covenant with God, as members and friends of the Covenant Christian Community.

We do hereby covenant to study, and by the grace of God, to intentionally actualize God-consciousness and we shall strive to embody the meaning of this experience in our lives before our families and others along our paths.

We agree to join those forces seeking to conserve the resources of this world and to minister to the children of God, old and young, through all phases of their experience, even up to the higher life of the Spirit.

We agree to meditate daily and at least annually to present a personal Covenant with God. We agree to support the ministry of this community through our personal energies and material means. This is our Covenant with God. Amen.

God is in me, with me, through me, and for me, and where God is, there can be no imperfection. (3X)

A perfect body, a brilliant mind, and a holy spirit, these we intend to have and be in the Name of the Divine Within, Amen.

Covenant members also make personal and private individual covenants with God. These covenants represent the highest spiritual goals members may have for themselves. Each member promises God that they will do their best to reach these goals. At each Covenant anniversary, members are invited to submit their covenants in a sealed, self-addressed envelope, which is never opened by anyone except themselves. The community prays for the members’ success in fulfilling their spiritual potential and the envelope is mailed back to members in six months. Each year, members review their progress in achieving their goals and are invited to revise and renew them as needed.

We believe that with daily meditation, clearly defined spiritual goals, and the support of a loving prayerful community, members are able to fulfill their highest spiritual potential in alignment with God’s will for them as they have discerned it.

Our lifelong work is to use our evolving awareness of the indwelling Spirit of God to transform our lives in ways that enlighten, serve, and uplift ourselves and our communities.
